Café Campagne’s happy hour continues with some new additions. Wine Director Cyril Fréchier serves up two new wine offerings: red and rosé Pot Lyonnais, a 500 milliliter carafe for $10., and all ‘tastes’ are half off, an excellent opportunity to taste through our many wine offerings.

Chef Daisley Gordon has added petit burger d’agneau, a small lamb burger served with balsamic onions and aïoli at the petit price of $2, and pâté sandwiches, our house-made country-style pork and chicken liver pâté served on gougère for a mere buck each.

Café Campagne’s happy hour, a perfect reason to leave work early and drink life in.

CAFÉ CAMPAGNE'S FRENCH 101 PRIX-FIXE
A regional tour of French food and wine.

Loire Valley Rosés

The wandering banks of the Loire River, and its tributaries, offer a parade of much loved Loire Valley wine appellations. From the westernmost vineyards of Muscadet to the eastern slopes of Pouilly-sur-Loire, vines and grapes flourish idly along lush valley floors and surrounding hillsides. As with many regions of France, local history and customs are closely linked to wine production, commerce, and of course, drinking pleasure. In and around the town of Anjou, red, white and rosé wines were popular as early as the 6th century. The countless Châteaux and estates dotting the countryside underscores the unique and idyllic nature of the region; particularly during long summer months when warm days and sensuously balmy evenings are spent outdoors in gardens and on terraces. Just as in Provence to the south, rosé wines are a perfect accompaniment to these lackadaisical days and sun inspired cuisine.

Distinctly less Mediterranean in style-warm scented and sweetly fruited-the Rosés de la Loire offer a thirst quenching freshness and underlying mineral streak rarely found in wines grown in the hotter climate of Southern France. Varietal options are more limited: Cabernet Franc and Gamay Noir around Anjou or Chinon, and Pinot Noir from further east towards the town of Sancerre. Our Rosé adventure continues throughout July and August with some gems from the land of fairytale castles and meandering rivers. - À votre santé et bon appétit!

In addition to our regular dinner menu, Chef Daisley Gordon offers:

Three courses - $34. - Service non compris
